How your distance learning course works.

Distance learning has been proven over many years as a particularly effective method of learning. Above all, it is uniquely flexible and adaptable to your own personal needs, the pace and environment within which you prefer to learn.

  1. You Enrol... And Join thousands of other Ideal Schools students enjoying all the advantages of home study. You need no educational qualifications to start, nor need you wait for the start of a new term. Simply follow the straightforward enrolment procedure shown.
  2. You Become a Registered Student... Your details will be noted, and your personal tutor assigned to you. Within about one week, you will receive your first study materials, your first assignments, and very clear instructions so that you can start learning right away.
  3. You Start Learning Your New Skills... Immediately you will see why your study manuals are so valuable - they are not textbooks, but specially written training manuals for easy home learning. Try the many self-test questions which are provided in the study manuals to make sure you've learned each section. You will then be asked to complete an assignment covering the new information you have learned. Then just post or e-mail you assignment, which your tutor will assess and mark.
  4. Your Personal Tutor Encourages and Advises... The tutors helping you through your course are foremost experts in their particular fields. Additionally, however, they are also well experienced in teaching by distance learning. Your assignment will be marked, a grade awarded, and it will be returned to you with all other comments, advice and explanations that you may need. And if you have any specific queries or problems, just ask for your tutor ... as often as you like throughout your course.
  5. You Continue to Learn More and More... Your tutor-marked assignments may suggest that you revise certain sections. Otherwise, you continue the same pattern, learning more new skills, demonstrating your rapidly increasing knowledge. As you progress, further study manuals are supplied - and these build up into a valuable reference library. If you choose the computer-based option, the software is yours to keep. Always, your tutors are there, guiding and encouraging you.
  6. Diploma / Examination... In this very effective way, you will soon find that you have completed your course and will receive our diploma. Or, if studying for an external exam, you will be confident to take the examination.
