Michelle Smith

Michelle founded ValueAdd Business Solutions in January 2011 after a 20 year career in professional services. She has extensive knowledge of new start and growing businesses having worked with a broad spectrum of organisations over the years.

Having embraced the “cloud” Michelle uses cloud computing in almost every aspect of her business and encourages her clients to do the same integrating applications wherever possible to adopt a streamlined approach. She believes being on the cutting edge of cloud computing offers a fantastic opportunity for savvy entrepreneurs.

In 2014 Michelle won “VA of the Year, Scotland” then went on to win “UK, VA of the Year “at the UK Grand Finals later that year in London. In November 2016 Michelle and her team were thrilled to scoop the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers LUCA award for Large Practice of the Year which was closely followed in March 2017 with the UK’s Outstanding VA of the Year accolade. As well as winning awards she was delighted to also support one of her employees to achieve the 2017 LUCA Employed Bookkeeper of the Year.

Michelle has an HND in Mathematics and BA in Business Management. She is an Associate member of Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and a Fellow with Chartered Management Institute.

In May 2015 Michelle was announced as one of the latest Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) Ambassadors where she promotes gender equality in enterprise across Scotland.
