Courses Completed: ICB - The ICB Career Path & Level IV Diploma in Financial Management
The story of IDEAL Schools is one offering world-class tuition to students from all walks of life for more than 30 years. Through various flexible study programs just like the ICB Career Path IDEAL Schools provide an opportunity for professional excellence.
ICB LUCA Award shortlisted Nominee Eszter Petrinovics is one of the students who achieved the highest qualification ICB offers and more. Ms Petrinovics has always viewed bookkeeping as a calling rather than a career path. Through a difficult childhood in her native Hungary, study was an escape, and she found that studying for Masters degrees in Economics gave her a sense of achievement. Since then, her health has been plagued by hypothyroidism, a persistent condition that manifests itself among others with the kind of depression that would cause most to give up. For Ms Petrinovics, however, it only spurred her on:
‘Bookkeeping has become my life, and my passion for helping people to solve their problems has never been more relevant than now. This is what success is for me.’
She moved to Manchester in 2015 but was planning to study bookkeeping back in 2013 and was looking for suitable distance learning instructors, when she came across Ideal Schools. “As soon as I spoke to the Course Adviser, Brian McVean, I was sold. His refreshing approach immediately came through and I felt I was into something great”, she said. This relationship has continued, with Ms Petrinovics soaring through all five exams between January and July 2014, and qualifying as a Member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (MICB).
Ms Petrinovics wasn’t finished there, and has since taken on Payroll, Self Assessment, and all level 4 modules for the Financial Manager qualification which she finished with an overall distinction. Her warm relationship with Ideal Schools, her passion for learning and helping others has led her to teach at Ideal Schools, tutoring new students through the course on self-assessment taxation. She is also a main moderator of IDEAL Schools Facebook closed study groups which provides a platform for past and present students to discuss study and work related questions, sharing professional development information and providing activities.
Her diligence and achievements led Ideal Schools to nominate Ms Petrinovics for the LUCA award, named after Luca Pacioli, the Cistercian monk credited with inventing the process of double entry bookkeeping, for Student of the Year 2015, awarded by the ICB. But it is not just her study that was shortlisted as top 3 UK for the LUCAs, Ms Petrinovics has set up her own bookkeeping practice in Manchester, OptiAccounts, which was also nominated for New Practice of the Year 2015.
