My work-life balance is exactly where I wanted it to be when I set out, and I probably work part-time hours for a full-time wage now.

We recently spoke to our student, Sharon Morris, of Sharon Morris Bookkeeping Services, about her experience of studying with Ideal Schools and her subsequent setting up of her own bookkeeping business and it is a must-watch for those considering enrolling with us or setting up as a self-employed bookkeeper.

She starts by talking about her reasons for enrolling with Ideal Schools back in 2003 and why she chose to complete the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers qualifications she undertook.

Amazingly, she seems to have taken studying with a new-born baby in her stride, although, as she explains, she had been working in the sector for a number of years prior to his arrival.

She then goes on to talk about what she did to kick start her business in 2004 – lots of fantastic ideas for those considering or starting out in self-employment here.

Sharon then describes what her business looks like now and how her son is now undertaking training with Ideal Schools. She is currently in competition with him to see who can complete Level 4 first.

She explains why she thinks Ideal Schools has been the right training provider for her and her son before finally talking about the work-life balance she has now at this stage of her life and career.

Ideal Schools offers comprehensive training in bookkeeping and accounts via distance learning in qualifications from ICB, AAT and CPD.
