ICB Diploma Qualifications
The ICB have a range of Diploma qualifications, each designed to enable you to offer specific skills and services to employers or prospective clients. Clicking on the course choices at the bottom of this page will provide you with full course information and course fees, but the following will provide a brief outline of the qualifications on offer:
Entry Requirements: None
ICB Exams: P3
Employment: Under the ICB umbrella this qualification will allow you to offer a full payroll service to prospective clients, on a self-employed basis. The practical aspect of this course of study would also provide you with payroll skills that would benefit any small & medium sized businesses.
There are two aspects to this course of study:
Manual Payroll - starting with the basics of the payroll function you'll be guided through all topics to ensure an in-depth underpinning knowledge, covering all aspects within the exam syllabus.
Computerised Payroll - Using Sage 50 Payroll and the your new manual payroll skills, you'll be guided through the functionality of the software not only ensuring you are ready to pass your ICB exam, but are prepared to use your new skills within a working environment.
Within this course of study there is one examination, which tests your underpinning knowledge as well as your ability to process a computerised payroll. The exam is completed at home, with a 24hr completion period and the pass requirement is 85%.
Entry Requirements: Associate Membership of ICB (up to Level III Bookkeeping), or equivalent qualification.
ICB Exams: SAT
Employment: The very mention of the word 'taxation' sends tingles down the spine of many small business owners. As a qualified bookkeeper, the addition of this qualification would allow you to offer this as an additional service, which can really increase your revenue streams.
This course will prepare you for a single, final exam with ICB, which is completed from home. From the point of commencing the exam there is a 48hr completion period and the pass requirement is 90%.
Level IV Diploma in Advanced Bookkeeping & Accounts:
Entry Requirements: Full Membership of ICB
ICB Exams: FR105, L4MA, L4DFS, L4PT & L4BT
Employment: The five elements to this qualification will ensure you are a wider grasp of management & financial accounting, where taxation is also covered comprehensively. On completion of this qualification you can have greater responsibility within the completion of accounts for incorporated business (limited companies). If you are self-employed as a bookkeeper, the FRS105 qualification will permit you to prepare and submit accounts for micro entities, without the help of an accountant.

There is a final exam at the end of each of the above modules and all are completed from home. Each individual subject is a qualification in it's own right but to gain the full Level 4 Diploma qualification you need to complete four exams from the five available options.
